In the opening bout of a six bout card at The Theater, Madison Square Garden, Glen Tapia of Passaic, New Jersey went to 7-0, 5 kayos, with a second round stoppage of Nick Runningbear of Bismarck, North Dakota, now 4-3, 1 kayo. After an even first round, Tapia knocked down Runningbear in the second. Runningbear got up, but had a defeated look on his face as Tapia continued to land jabs and counter jabs.
