After five even rounds, Perry cut Mulligan over the right eye that turned the fight in his favor. Scoring repeatedly with his right hand Perry, had Mulligan blinded from his bleeding cut. After being pounded in the 7th round, Mulligan's corner entered the ring and asked the fight to be stopped.
