In a heavyweight battle, former Golden Gloves champion Walker dropped Leapai with an overhand right in the third, who beat the count. Late in the fourth, Leapai trapped Walker on the ropes and unloaded six unanswered power punches to the head, causing Walker's eyes to roll and the referee Cyril Cairns to stop the contest at 2:54 of the fourth. The Walker corner protested the stoppage. After the bout, Leapai claimed he could not lift his arms in the middle rounds due to punishment taken in the early exchanges, and had to survive a lot of power punches by Walker which scored in the second and third rounds. After this bout, Leapai was scheduled to fight Owen Beck.
