The Mexican gave a decent effort and took the fight to the inside in center ring to try to survive. Nieto kept getting hit by left-right combinations thrown by Perez he could not stop. Nieto tried fighting back with short jabs and refused to fall. In the fourth round, the punches of Perez caused a huge cut across Nieto's forehead, affecting his vision, forcing Nieto to give up in his own corner.
