Jonathan Cuba and Hector Rivera waged a junior welterweight foot war, won by Cuba in the orthodox stance, who won every round his left foot outside of southpaw Rivera's right foot. Cuba scored frequently with power lefts and power rights, and switched back and forth from orthodox to southpaw and back again, confusing Rivera's attempts to counterattack. Cuba pinned Rivera on the ropes for most of the third, with Rivera opting to stay on the ropes and fight off them as a counter puncher, getting hit by Cuba, not getting hurt but not landing very much. Cuba fought a smart fight as an improved fighter. He managed to keep his left foot consistently outside his opponent's right all night to score power rights on the frustrated Rivera, as seen in the photo.
