Sean Monaghan 175 lbs beat Nick Whiting 177 lbs by TKO at 1:38 in round 2 of 4

In the preliminary bout to the main event of a six fight card called 'Capitale Punishment II' held at Capitale in New York City's Chinatown, sponsored by Empire Sports and Entertainment, and Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing, on October 22, 2010, light heavyweight Irish Seanie Monaghan of Long Beach, New York, went to 4-0, 3 kayos, with a second round knockout of Nick 'the Werewolf' Whiting of Bemidji, Minnesota, now 2-14-1 with 2 kayos. The first round was a cautious feeling out round, with Monaghan landing booming overhand lefts and rights, and Whiting trying to counter. Monaghan landed his shots often. Monaghan did not try to overpower his opponent, and the two went in circles around the ring as the ring was not cut off. In the second, Monaghan did try to cut the ring off, and began mixing punches, adding power shots and hooks to his offense, with Whiting backing up, getting hit too much and clearly in trouble. Halfway through the round, Monaghan closed the show by landing pinpoint accurate punches on his limited opponent to both the head and body. A power left hook by Monaghan, followed by a left-right combination and a lethal left hook, sent Whiting to the canvas with a loud thud, out cold for a scary looking ten count knockout by referee Shada Murdaugh at 1:38 of the second. The ringside doctor was right on the scene. Most fortunately, the veteran Whiting, who was done, was later able to the ring on his own power and appeared to be okay.
