Vladine Biosse 171 lbs beat Ariel Espinal 172 lbs by UD in round 6 of 6

In the preliminary bout to the main event on CES Boxing 'No Man Standing' fight card at Fox Theater, Foxwoods Resort Casino, October 12, 2010, New England Super Middleweight Champion Vladine Biosse of Providence, Rhode Island, also called 'Mr. Providence', won a six round unanimous decision over 'Iron' Ariel Espinal, a Dominican fighter of Brooklyn, New York, in a nontitle bout. Biosse, now 9-0, 4 kayos, got taken the distance by Espinal, now 8-16-3, 4 kayos, who proved he could take serious punishment without giving up. The beating Biosse gave Espinal was unpleasant to watch. Biosse spent much of the bout pinning Espinal in corners while scoring continuous shots to Espinal's head. The bout proved one theory, which was the corner was a bad place for Espinal to be, though he took Espinal's best shots in his attempt to get Biosse to punch himself out. Espinal tried staying on the move and threw lots of jabs, but they lacked power. Biosse declined to punch himself out, not falling for Espinal's trap, and patiently outboxed Espinal to win the decision. Biosse was warned for a low blow to Espinal in the fifth round by referee Richard Flaherty. Espinal leaned with his head throughout, and leaned on the inside to try to neutralize Biosse's height and reach advantage. Not a quitter, Espinal threw some 'Hail Mary' haymakers midway through the sixth round and tried for a lucky win, but his punches missed. Espinal didn't win a round but survived six ugly rounds.
