Gonzales is coming of a loss against Jhunriel Ramonal for the Philippines' super bantamweight title while Chonlatarn is coming of his 24th successful defense of his ABCO featherweight title against Ericson Origenes. - Gonzales got the better of the two in the first round by jabbing Chonlatarn at bay; all three Thai judges gave him the first round in the official scorecards. But Chonlatarn won every round after that, beating Gonzales to the punch in most instances and eventually forcing a TKO at 2:48 of round 8. Gonzales wanted to continue, but referee Surat Soikrachang had seen enough and rightfully stopped the fight.
