Feldman outboxed Wright, keeping him off-balance and having the best of the infighting. Wright kept his right hand cocked for much of the fight, and was unable to land it when he threw. The Brooklyn Eagle felt that Feldman was fading at the end of the bout, as he was cut over both eyes. The paper felt that Wright may have won if the bout had been scheduled for ten rounds.
