  • Hamer won every round of this bout by cautiously outboxing the slower King from a distance with a superior jab and remaining out of King's range with good foot movement for all eight rounds, with no change in game plan. Hamer did not, however, bring himself close to the dangerous hard hitting King at anytime during the bout and take any unnecessary chances. King moved forward slowly but sure in a straight line with a good defense, hoping for a mistake. Hamer stayed away, listening to his corner. As such the bout was a technical win, but a very quiet bout.
