Bout Summary
A measured opening round saw Sanchez Leon look to use his height and reach advantage to work the jab from the outside. Magdaleno looked for countering opportunities but found few and relied on moving in quickly and trying to land the left hand. At 2:00 of Round 2, Magdaleno landed a left wrist or a cupping punch to the side of the head that sent Sanchez Leon into the ropes and down. He made it to his feet at the count of eight. Magdaleno poured it on for the remainder of the round landing numerous punches upstairs with little response from Sanchez Leon. A looping right hand sent Sanchez Leon down early in Round 3. He was up at the count of nine and after an extended look was allowed to continue. A follow left hand sent him down for the third time in the bout. At that, Referee Vic Drakulich waved an end to the bout.
