Lou Salica 119 lbs beat Kenny Lindsay 121 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

  • Date: 1942-06-03
  • Location: Athletic Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
  • Referee: Hector McDonald
  • Weights: Lindsay 121, Salica 119
  • Attendance: 4,200

"The first three rounds were Salica's, who scored at will with a lightninglike left jab. Lindsay managed to hold Salica even in the fourth with a heavy body attack. Salica had a wide margin in the fifth. In the sixth, Lindsay concentrated his blows to the body and won the round by a good margin.

The seventh saw Lindsay staggered from a hard right and Salica doubled up from a terrific left hook under the heart, which was Lindsay's best punch of the fight. The eighth was a good round for Salica, who scored hard and often with his smashing left jab. But in the ninth round Lindsay actually outjabbed the champion and twice hurt him with left hooks to the face.

The tenth and final round was the best of the fight, with both boys standing toe-to-toe and slugging it out. Salica accidentally hit Lindsay low, and lost the round on a foul."
