Armstrong knocked Ganzon down ten second into the bout with a right hand for a three-count. The two circled and sparred briefly, before Armstrong landed a left and a right that put Ganzon down for the ten-count.
It was reported that there were 5,000 fans who saw this bout, the "largest fight crowd in Stockton in recent years." The crowd included many Filipinos because of their fellow countryman, Ganzon.
