Raymond Serrano 140 lbs beat Angel Rios 140 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10
First ten rounder for Serrano, the main event of a five bout card promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing at the Tropicana Casino showroom in Atlantic City. Serrano, now 16-0, won the early rounds by out jabbing a cautious Rios. The bout was closer than the scoring indicated. Rios appeared to win rounds five, six and eight on aggressiveness and superior counter punching. Serrano won rounds seven, nine and ten to clinch the decision. Serrano warned once for low blows. Otherwise, a clean bout. The bout was televised on 'Boxeo Azteca' the first televised card on Azteca America, and this was the best bout of the night on the card, broadcast on a one hour tape delay.
