A right, followed by a left hook to the jaw floored Hughes for a nine count. Upon rising, Fox refused to allow Hughes to clinch, hitting with several rights and lefts. Fox eventually tagged Hughes with a right hand square on the chin, that sent Hughes down on a delayed knockdown. Hughes fell on his stomach, and took the ten count.
