Boyd Melson versus Delen Parsley Light Middleweight Eight Round Bout
- In a main event bout of a DiBella Entertainment fight card at BB King Blues Supper Club in New York City, the shorter southpaw Melson had the taller Delen Parsley down in the second and sixth rounds with hooks. Two 10-8 rounds for Melson were not enough as the power punching Melson was slightly outboxed technically by Parsley, who used a left jab to outwork Melson overall in terms of punches thrown and landed, though not with power. Melson went down late in the eighth for a flash knockdown, without which this bout would have been a split decision for Parsley. To draw on the cards, Melson would have had to win the eighth and final round. A very close, competitive hard fought bout. A rematch was said to be possible. Parsley was in big trouble in the second round after getting knocked down and looked near out on his feet, hanging on for dear life. Melson's best chance to end the bout was at that point. Clean bout refereed by Shada Murdaugh, with no fouls.
