In one of the most exciting fights ever seen at Embassy Hall, Beboit upset the highly regarded Chirino in the 10 round main event. It was a classic bout of slugger vs boxer which thrilled the large crowd. The early rounds saw the redheaded lad from Massachusetts sharpshoot the hard-hitting left hooker from Argentina with stinging jabs and hooks to win the early rounds. In a heated exchange in the 5th, Benoit caught his foe with a hard right uppercut. Chirino dropped to the canvas for the required 8 count and rose on rubbery legs at the end of the round. The 6th saw Chirino charge our of his corner and take the play away from his foe in a fine round that had the fans cheering, only to have Benoit dazzle him in the next 2 stanzas. Chirino made a strong bid in the last 2 rounds, taking Benoit's crisp jabs while getting in some good left hooks. But he could not overcome the early tide. Fans want a rematch in this one.
