Castilloux knocked down Gamiere twice in the 2nd round, and at the end of the final round. Gamiere gave a good account of himself in the fight though, as he landed several hard blows on Castilloux. The Cleveland Plain Dealer described his performance as "... one of the gamest e'er (sic) seen in a Cleveland ring."
