British Prizefighter Tournament Final
American heavyweight Tor Hamer won the annual British Prizefighter tournament by winning an upset three round decision over heavyweight contender Kevin Johnson in the final. Eight fighters enter each of these 'tournaments'. The four winners of the three round bouts fight each other in the two scheduled three round semifinal bouts. The two survivors fight the final. Albert Sosnowski lost a split decision to Johnson. Biggest win to date for rising prospect Hamer, who entered this tournament as a preparation for his first eight round bout. Hamer earned $32,000 Euro for winning the tournament.
