Date of the Fight--Feb. 6, 1940 "Walter Franklin and Harry Balsamo renewed their feud at the New York Coliseum and at the end of eight rounds the bout was declared a draw.--but many thought Franklin was entitled to the award. Walter scored a knockdown in the first and clearly won the second. Balsamo was penalized in the fourth anf fifth for low hitting. He was cautioned again in the seventh and Franklin enjoyed the edge in the closing round but the official award was even-stephen." Report from Eddie Borden in THE RING--April, 1940 p.51
