Santos entered the bout wearing a patch on a cut over his left eye. For the first four rounds, Morgan pounded it, as he took three of the first four rounds. In the 5th, Santos hurt one of Morgan's eyes, and took the 5th and 6th rounds. Morgan came back to take the 7th round, while Santos took the 8th round.
