Conn was knocked down in the 3rd round by a left hook, but responded by putting Actis down with a left-right in the 4th round, for no-count. Though Conn led throughout, Actis was still dangerous until he put up a final stand in the 6th round. Conn had wore down and badly cut Actis along his left eye, when referee Joe Gorman stopped the bout.
