Delvin Rodriguez 157 lbs beat George Tahdooahnippah 155 lbs by TKO at 2:41 in round 6 of 10

  • The fight was supposed to be over near the end of the second round. However, miscommunication between referee Eddie Cotton and the ringside doctor resulted in a delay and an eventual restart, allowing George Tahdooahnippah a strange 'second chance' back into the fight.
  • Rodriguez, with clear height and reach advantage, landed frequent and accurate power shots from both hands and broke the much shorter Tahdooahnippah down. Rodriguez, a Danbury Connecticut father of two, wore SHES on his boxing trunks in dedicating his performance to the victims of nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School of Newtown, Connecticut, site of a national shooting tragedy involving children.[[1]]
  • Teddy Atlas stated at bout's conclusion "Tahdooahnippah had taken a lot of punches. That class fighter was saved from himself from taking any more punishment," Atlas' ringside call for ESPN on Video Daily Motion, fight highlights [[2]]
