Miller easily outboxed Ruth, winning every round according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Ruth struggled to land more than a half dozen solid blows, as he was nailed with blows every time he tried to close in on the faster Miller. Miller led with his left in the bout, and often followed with a right-hand. Miller nearly knocked Ruth down in the 6th round, having him wobbly.
