• Kennedy returned to action at a higher weight, going the ten round distance to defeat rough tough Carlos Vinan. Kennedy mostly jabbing out of range while moving on his feet. The shorter Vinan came forward with pressure. Kennedy elected not to mix it on the inside, a superior approach to an inside fighter of this type who only comes straightforward. Kennedy took awhile to settle down after a year of inactivity, finally landing pinpoint head jabs and body shots to put Vinan down late in the tenth round. Vinan beat the count and looked ready to go but somehow survived to the final bell. Scoring appeared fair. Teon's offense was the fight. Vinan was ' in the house' but landed counters rarely.
