"A crowd of 6000 ring devotees saw Sarron not only outbox, but also outfight Benny. He took everything that Bass had in stock, including a couple of low ones that seems to be unintentional." Philadelphia Inquirer
Sarron was only in trouble in the 9th round, when Bass landed a right to the chin, that forced him to hold for much of the round. The Inquirer felt that Sarron manhandled Bass, and gave him one of the most humiliating defeats he sustained in a Philadelphia ring, aside from his loss to Kid Chocolate.
