After losing the first round, Salvadore went after Mandell and prevented Mandell from scoring with his jab and getting away without being hit, as he hit with lefts and rights to the face. Salvadore was able to back up Mandell with a body attack and rights to the head. Salvadore won the last three rounds, according to the Los Angeles Times, who felt a draw decision "would not have hurt anybody."
