• Third consecutive upset for rapidly rising middleweight prospect Louis Rose of Los Angeles. Rose won three fights in a row over unbeaten prospects Akil Auguste, Delen Parsley and Gino McClellan, fighters with a combined record of 21-0. Auguste attempted a six rounder in his third professional bout. Rose exposed Auguste as a four round fighter, letting his hands go and not getting hit by Auguste for most of the first five rounds. Auguste did better in the sixth round as the pace slowed, scoring occasionally, perhaps winning the last round on the scorecards.
