Pete Reyes 164 lbs beat Juan Celin Zapata 165 lbs by KO in round 2 of 4

On the undercard of a seven bout card promoted by Dmitriy Salita's Star of David Promotions, Zapata had Reyes in trouble early in the first round hanging on for dear life, and the first round featured a lot of wrestling and holding. The bout evolved into a George Foreman versus Ron Lyle slugfest, all offense and no defense, and it was immediately clear one person was going to go with this style of fighting. Zapata landed a haymaker which sent Reyes down badly hurt. Reyes somehow managed to beat the count. In the slugout which followed, a straight power right send Zapata down to the canvas for 15 minutes, knocked out cold. After an extended recovery period, during which the unconscious Zapata was seen punching into the air while still out, Zapata was most fortunate to leave the ring on his own power. Spectacular end to the bout, the crowd at Fight Factory Arena gave Reyes a standing ovation. A no defense slugfest with both men down, one for the count. EMTs were on the scene.
