A very quiet bout fought on the ropes throughout, with Oliver deceptively fighting off the ropes without ever going to center ring, baiting Brunker into a trap, trading inside shots with Brunker, and forcing Brunker to hold. Brunker countered as best as he could, but Oliver appeared to win as the busier fighter. However, the bout was close and difficult to score. Oliver was coming off a decision loss to Billy Dib.
