In a bout closer than the cards indicated, 18-0 lightweight prospect Mark Davis and 10-11 rugged veteran Carlos Vinan exchanged jabs and body shots on the inside for all ten rounds. The bout looked closer to a draw, but Davis just pulled out a close tenth as Vinan took the bout dirty and hit behind the head, though he was not penalized. Vinan's corner complained about unfavorable scoring after the bout. Close bout but Davis just won.
