  • Time of Knockout: 2:59 of the second round
  • CompuBox Statistics: Ortiz 30 of 100 punches 30%, Collazo 31 of 108 punches 29%. Esteves broke up several clinches. No fouls occurred.
  • Main event of a fight card promoted by Golden Boy, with Collazo's WBA ranking and WBA International Welterweight title at stake.
  • Collazo called out Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a bout at Barclays Center in 2014 after the bout. "Floyd if you are watching let's make it happen."
  • Collazo retained the WBA International Welterweight title with a second round knockout of Victor Ortiz, who was trying to come back from a broken jaw in the ring and 19 months of inactivity. An overly aggressive Ortiz appeared to barely win the first round by landing a few more punches than Collazo, but the round was razor close. Ortiz made a southpaw mistake, swinging wide with his punches in the second round. Near the end of the second round, Ortiz swung wide with a left hook, missed, and got hit with a Collazo right hook right on the chin. Ortiz staggered with his back to Collazo, his legs went, and he went on his knees to the canvas with his head through the ropes, counted out by referee Benjy Esteves Jr. at 2:59. Though Ortiz' broken jaw appeared healed, not so. Ortiz was unable to take another shot to the jaw.
