• Light heavyweight veteran Dashon Johnson gave a rusty Craig McEwan a six round beating, dropping in the second round on the way to victory, in a bout which was not as close as the scorecards would indicate. McEwan appeared in condition, but was simply not throwing many punches if at all. The shorter Johnson fought his way inside and walked McEwan down with head power shots. McEwan's jabs, when he threw then, lacked power. An upset on the eleven bout card at BB King, but a fair decision. Johnson clearly won rounds two through six on points solidly, and the bout. HBO commentator Harold Lederman, seated ringside with press, noted inactivity had affected McEwan.
