• Both light heavyweights Peterkin and Burris appeared in top physical condition for this bout, won by Peterkin. The issue was Burris was taking too many head and body shot combinations, and in rounds three, four and five, was not answering the barrages thrown by Peterkin. Burris looked as if he could go the sixth round, but he did not throw anything in the fifth round, so the contest was stopped in the corner. Burris complained after the bout the NYSAC had acted prematurely to stop the bout because of the injuries which had happened to heavyweight fighter Magomed Abdusalamov at The Garden. However the stoppage appeared justified as Burris was not throwing punches in the previous round.
