- In a hard punching power shot versus counter power shot war, Martinez landed more punches overall. Yusupov was game and countered effectively at times. In the end, Martinez was landing very heavy power shots to the head and backing up Yusupov in round five. Martinez cut off the ring on the exhausted and broken down Yusupov and finished him on his feet with a power punch barrage on the ropes right after round six began. Yusupov complained, but at bout's end, he was defenseless and his legs were gone.
