• The fighters went toe to toe in center ring in rounds six and seven, won by Charles who outworked Vasquez in the two slugfest rounds.
• Charles dropped the 16-8 Vasquez with a body shot in round two. Charles moved side to side throwing fast jabs which scored in rounds one through five, and round 8, confusing Vasquez, who mostly threw flat slap punches. Vasquez' face looked a puffy bruised mess by bout's end.
• Charles beats Vasquez again, fighting effectively creating angles and not standing in front of his opponent. First win for Charles since 2011.
