- Toe-to-toe head hunting slugfest between Chicago and New York City Golden Gloves champions.
- Wright fought as move forward aggressor. Bujaj went backwards entire bout throwing counter bombs.
- Despite the pleas from both corners, neither fighter significantly worked the body. Power shot war.
- Bujaj had blood bleeding profusely from his mouth due to a broken jaw from a punch thrown by Wright.
- Ringside doctor gave extra one minute rest period in corner after round six. "Pull out the tooth!" Bujaj.
- Bujaj, in trouble in round 8, got a five minute rest period after ref called an accidental low blow.
- Wright's trainer Rick Wilson claimed Bujaj unfairly got an extra minute's rest after round six, and and got a low blow call which wasn't a low blow in round eight, allowing Bujaj, about to get stopped, to get back in the fight.
- Wilson noted Bujaj threw eight to 10 low blows during the bout, claiming the ref ignored them in favoritism to Bujaj.
- Bujaj came back in the tenth and gave Wright a severe beating on the ropes. As Wright staggered around the ring out of gas 'ready to go', the referee stopped the bout due to loose hand tape on one of Wright's gloves, allowing Wright extra recovery time to survive the bout.
- Referee Shada Murdaugh, as seen from press row, appeared neutral and fair, giving both fighters an equal chance to win, while maintaining high safety standards in the interests of both fighters. Murdaugh carefully maintained control of the ring, preventing chance of serious injury.
- All three judges had different scores: 96-94 Wright, 96-94 Bujaj, 95-95 Draw. Wright's trainer felt Bujaj deserved a low blow point deduction.
- After the bout, Wright's trainer Rick Wilson and Bujaj trainer Billy Jiles had a heated argument about whose fighter won on the ring apron.
- Promoter Dmitriy Salita said a 12 round WBC rematch was a possibility. Bujaj said he would do it for nothing to Wright's face in center ring.
