This was described as one of the most exciting bouts in Santa Ana ring history. Forbes dominated LeMon in the first five rounds; knocking him down once in the 1st round, twice in the 2nd, once in the 4th, and once in the 5th round. LeMon turned the bout around in the 6th round, and then knocked Forbes down five times in the 7th round. LeMon would take the last three rounds to earn the draw.
