• Unbeaten lightweight prospect Chinea defeated his first major opponent, Osnel Charles, who took this bout on three days notice. Charles started well, and landed some solid body shots in the first round in an attempt to drop Chinea's defensive guard and get him out early, his only chance. Chinea appeared in top condition, however, and was peppering Charles with jabs and body shots on the ropes with a consistent nonstop attack. After three rounds, an exhausted and clearly unprepared Charles gave up on his stool.
