Vasquez gave Stevenson a beating with jab combinations and power body shots in rounds six, chased him in round seven, and beat him up again in round eight, sending Stevenson to the canvas in the eighth round. The referee stopped it 20 seconds into the ninth round, with Vasquez giving Stevenson a beating and Stevenson unable to defend himself. Stevenson, despite being in top shape and in the house, had trouble landing any counters through Vasquez' defense from the second round on for the most part. Good stoppage.
