The bout was even through the first three rounds. Garcia took over in the 4th round, as he evaded Romero's left hands, and scored with his right hand. In the 8th round, Garcia set up the knockout with a right uppercut, and followed it with a long right hand that sent Romero to the canvas, with his head hanging outside the ropes.
