- Peterkin looked a bit heavy as he tried to sweat a few pounds off before the bout to get to the 175 pound light heavyweight limit, but could not, so the bout went off at cruiserweight. Peterkin would land one shot, and Williams would then throw a counter and hold. Williams did not want to risk getting knocked out, so he fought a survival type bout and mostly held the first five rounds. Peterkin tired slightly in the sixth and final round, allowing Williams to be the busier boxer and win the last round on two scorecards. Nonetheless, not a close bout.
