On the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr. versus Marcos Rene Maidana rematch, Alfredo Angulo fought in the wrong weight class at middleweight, and lost his third straight bout, a ten round decision to rising James De La Rosa. Angulo was down in the second round, and appeared to lose every round. Angulo also lost a point for an accumulation of low blows in round seven. One judge had it 99-89 for De La Rosa, a rout.
