• In a crossroads bout for both fighters, fast hands and crisp pinpoint uppercuts which scored enabled Scott to dominate Leapai and win every round. One Australian judge had it for the American 100-90. Not a close bout.
• Former world heavyweight contender Joe Bugner, now a citizen of Australia, had stated before this bout the shorter Leapai would have to get inside on the taller Scott and make a brawl of it, or else Leapai was in danger of allowing Scott to fight the same style fight Wladimir Klitschko fought against Leapai, taking target practice on the shorter man from the outside and breaking him down. Instead, Leapai fought the same fight against Scott he did against Klitschko, losing practically every round-and the fight-exactly the way Joe Bugner had predicted he would.
