The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Oct. 20, 1912 - Abe the Newsboy was disqualified in the eighth round at the Culver A.A., Coney Island. Abe was boxing Johnny Shaw of Fort Hamilton and constantly used the kidney blow. Abe claimed he had broken his thumb at the end of the eighth round, but a doctor examined it and said he saw nothing wrong.
