Walters used reach and size to dominate the bout with his jab. Walters jabs kept raining in and scoring, while Donaire landed none.The shorter Donaire, aside from one power shot near the end of one round, came up with no punches of significance. Walters jabs cut and swelled both of Donaire's eyes. Walters dropped Donaire for the first time in his career in round three. Walters continued to walk Donaire down and mix his jabs with power shots. In round six, Walters opened up and baited Donaire to come in and attack with power shots. Several blows were thrown by both fighters. Donaire fell face first to the canvas, knocked out. Donaire somehow got up just before the 10 count, but was out. After the bout, Donaire admitted he had trained his best, but took a one sided beating. Not a close bout.
