- Inactive nearly six years, Philadelphia super bantamweight Omar Carroll fought a masterful bout as a counter puncher, coming over Caramanno's telegraphed right to score numerous jabs. The ring was not cut off, and Caramanno came forward while Carroll moved side to side. Carroll got through to Caramanno in round four, tagging him with his jab repeatedly with the bout on the table to score the minor upset. Despite the split decision, Carroll clearly won the bout three rounds to one. Perhaps the first round was a bit closer.
