Romero dropped his hands in the 4th round, stuck out his chin, and dared Ortiz to hit him. Ortiz dropped him with a left hand, and Romero rose at the count of nine. Staggering and out on his feet, the referee stopped the bout. Romero later went down on his face and had to be revived by his corner.
