Holley Mims, 157, needed only 41 seconds to knock out Pat Byers, 150, before 1,280 fans. Mims scored with two left hooks to the head and rocked him with a right cross to the jaw. Byers reeled as Mims pumped home two left hooks to the head, and a right hook to the chin floored him. He was counted out by referee Harry Volkman, but was on his feet as soon as the count was finished and was able to leave the ring without assistance. (AP)
