Carlos Molina 153 lbs lost to Cornelius Bundrage 154 lbs by UD in round 12 of 12

  • Cornelius K9 Bundridge fought the entire bout with his hands down. throwing very accurate punishing jabs which scored. Molina came forward but without pressure or cutting off the ring, so the bout went round in circles all night. The Mexican crowd was mostly silent.
  • Bundridge outboxed Molina and regained his IBF World Light Middleweight title. Bundridge knocked down Molina in the first and tenth rounds. Bundridge was penalized one point in the eighth round for holding the head and hitting. The bout was not close, so the point deduction did not affect the outcome.
  • Bundridge's corner had one bizarre flaw: professionalism. Bundridge's hand tape kept coming loose the entire bout, forcing the referee to keep stopping the bout so Bundridge's corner could retape it, a corner mess for Bundridge, a respected champion. Molina got a lot of extra recovery time as a result.
  • At age 41, Bundridge came in swinging, pushed Molina around the ring and controlled the action throughout, and regained his IBF world title in Molina's home territory of Mexico, cheating father time by becoming the oldest recognized world light middleweight champion in ring history, a unique achievement.
